As a result of unprecedented growth at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, our Plastic Surgery Department is searching for an additional Physician Assistant to complement our team of three surgeons and three midlevel providers.  We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic physician assistant to join our practice that is ensconced in an atmosphere of teamwork and mutual respect.

This Physician Assistant, under surgeon responsibility and supervision, performs diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physicians to extend their knowledge in the sphere of decision making required to establish a diagnosis and to plan the appropriate therapy.  Assists in gathering the data necessary to implement the diagnostic and therapeutic plan of the physician.  Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients of all ages.

At this time the position is primarily based at Danville. Travel to outreach clinic required.

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following: performs H&P’s, provides pre- and post-procedural care, CMG’s, urodynamics, first or second assist in surgery, which may occur after scheduled hours, participation in rounds and the call schedule, accurate and complete charting in both the hard copy and electronic medical record, computer literacy, demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, instill confidence and facilitate communication with patients.

The successful Physician Assistant candidate will require completion of a CAAHEP-approved physician assistant program, NCCPA certification or eligibility through Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine licensure.

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners and must be eligible for or certified by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Job Description Orthopaedic group seeks a full-time Physician Assistant.  The PA will work directly with a Spine Fellowship trained Ortho.  Responsibilities include: surgical first assist (60% of position), joint aspirations and injections, casting, rounding (minimal weekends), writing scripts, patient evaluation (with Doctor) and education, reviewing lab results in both a clinic and hospital setting.  The group has their own PT Center and Imaging Center!

Successful candidate should be self-motivated, independent thinker, hard worker, confident and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.  The new candidate must have Ortho or surgical PA experience.  The group would also consider a PA that has completed a surgical or Ortho Fellowship.  The new candidate must have a Florida License or has already begun the licensing process.

Salary depends on experience plus bonus.  The location is 30 minutes to Fort Lauderdale and provides beautiful coastal living.
