Job Description General Orthopaedic Surgeon seeks a second full-time Physician Assistant.  The Doctor is focused on total joints, sports and general orthopaedics.  The group consists of Physical Therapists, PA, Athletic Trainer and a RN.

The position consists of 60% office and 40% surgical first assist.  Cases will focus on total joint and sports.  The new PA will be able to run their own clinic at a satellite location!  The majority of responsibilities include: evaluations of injury, cortisone and sin-visc injections, removing casts and pins, casting and splinting, writing scripts, patient education, ordering and reviewing lab results.  Preferred candidate should be NCCPA-certified, and have Ortho PA experience.  The Doctor would consider training a PA that has prior background in any of the following: ATC, Orthopaedic Preceptorship or Fellowship, Nurse, Medic, Physical Therapist and any ancillary medical experience.  The candidate should be able to function on their own and also be a team player.

The location is 40 minutes to Nashville, which offers all the cultural amenities of a great city.  The location provides great lakes, low cost of living, good schools and all year round outdoor activities.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Certified/Eligible PA  Licensed in Illinois. 40 hours per week plus one weekend per month.  Assist in outpatient clinics and eventually develop own outpatient clinics. Assist with inpatient rounds at 1-2 hospitals per day. Participation in group Research and Education activities. A position is available for training in endoscopic outpatient procedures. Applicants should have excellent communications skills, comfort with computers, Strong sense of responsibility, ability to work well as a group, and strong motivation to maintain and extend professional knowledge base.

COMPENSATION:
Base salary is $60K/yr for those with low experience levels, higher for those with more extensive experience. After completing first 6 months with the group, a $5k/yr raise is customary.  (After raise must commit for a minimum of 18 months.) Those seeking procedural training position should demonstrate willingness to commit to a longer term in exchange for the investment in resources necessary to help them gain procedural competency.
After 3 years with the group, providers are eligible for membership to the group with guarantee of perpetual employment.
