SOUTH CAROLINA (Columbia) Physician Assistant - Orthopaedics - Sports! Job Description Orthopaedic Surgeon with a Sports Fellowship seeks a full-time Physician Assistant. The new PA will work directly with a sports fellowship trained Doctor. This Doctor works with the sports teams of several local high schools and colleges within the community. The doctor has his own Physical Therapy Center. The new PA will focus on Orthopaedic cases dealing with athletic injuries and minimal general cases. The new PA will focus on seeing patients in the clinic and spend up to one day in the OR performing first assist. Call coverage is 1/8. The remaining responsibilities including office procedures, H&P's, sin-visc and cortisone injections, fracture reductions, writing scripts, removing casts and pins, rounds, consultation and patient evaluation and education, reviewing lab results. Also, the new PA will have the opportunity to cover major sporting events, as well as run a sports clinic. This position is available for experienced Ortho PA's. The group will consider recent graduates if they have any of the following background: ATC, Orthopaedic Fellowship, Orthopaedic Preceptership (at least three months). The new PA must have interpersonal skills and enjoy working with athletes. Columbia is the capital of South Carolina and offers several universities, culture, all year round outdoor life style and great quality of life.
