The Dean will be an experienced administrative leader who has demonstrated an ability to: oversee the organization of the Physical Therapy, Post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Public Health and Health Care Administration curriculum; lead faculty in the development of organizational policy; encourage and support research and scholarly activity on the part of the faculty; work cooperatively with other service departments of the University to promote student development; participate in and represent the college on state, regional and national education and professional bodies. The Dean will have the responsibility to ensure that the University is in compliance with all regulations regarding the operation of an accredited academic institution. The successful candidate will have a doctorate or terminal degree, or be able to demonstrate significant progress towards the completion of an earned doctorate where completion will be obtained within three years of hire. Candidate will have minimum three years of academic administrative experience, preferably in an academic health science center. Candidate will be able to develop and maintain professional programs, including accreditations. Outstanding leadership and communication skills are required. Must be able to develop outcomes assessments as necessary. Clinical experience in a health-related field is desirable. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with the qualifications and experience. The group handles general, sports and total joint cases. Responsibilities include 30% surgical first assist and the balance of time will be in the clinic. Call coverage is 1/6. The remaining responsibilities include: office procedures, H&P's, removing casts and pins, rounds, consultation and patient evaluation and education, reviewing lab results, coordinate with Physical Therapist and writing scripts. A successful candidate must have completed an Orthopaedic Rotation and have some medical background.
