The new Physician Assistant will work directly with an Orthopaedic Surgeon. Provide H&P's, surgical first assist, casting, patient evaluation and education, field patient calls, handle call coverage of ¼, reviewing lab results in both a clinic and hospital setting. The new PA will eventually run parallel clinic with the Doctor. The practice is 60% office and the balance first assist! Successful candidate is self-motivated, quick learner, good interpersonal skills, and is a take charge PA. The Doctor will train a new graduate, but they must have had at least one orthopaedic rotation and some prior medical background (Nurse, EMT, Athletic Trainer, PT/OT etc.). The new graduate must have a minimum of one year of work experience! The practice would prefer a candidate that is from the Mid-west or has ties to the general area. Compensation: Base salary ($55k to $58k for trainee), plus bonus. The Waterloo, Iowa area offer excellent schools, affordable housing, low crime, regional airports, colleges and a great place to raise a family.
