The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) has opened an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced and innovative physician assistant educator to lead our Physician Assistant Studies program at our Boston, MA campus.

Reporting to the Associate Provost for Health Sciences Education, the Program Director will serve as a member of the School’s administrative leadership team. The Program Director will be responsible for leading the department in its movement toward learner centered education.

Other responsibilities include:

• Establishing new and monitoring current clinical affiliation sites and agreements.
• Leading on-going curricular revisions that maintain state-of-the-art program of excellence.
• Providing day to day management of departmental matters, including faculty and staff hiring, evaluation, and development; coordination and assessment of courses; continuous program evaluation and improvement; and budget management.
• Leading accreditation and self-study processes.
• Teaching in area(s) of expertise.
• Establishing a personal program of scholarly activity and mentoring faculty departmental scholarship.
• Performing service activities that advance the programs and the profession, including assisting in the recruitment, orientation, and retention of students.

Qualifications: The minimum qualifications include three years prior experience teaching in a Physician Assistant program, NCCPA certification, eligibility for MA license, at least three years of full-time physician assistant clinical practice experience, and a graduate degree in PA Studies or a related field. Preferred qualifications include an earned doctoral degree; prior experience as department chair or program director; and prior experience with curriculum development, program design, and teaching courses using a course management system.

The Doctor feels comfortable training a new PA that has excellent communications skills and has a strong desire for Neurosurgery.  The position is an average of 50 to 60 hours per week with a call of 1/3!  The position is approximately an equal split between surgical and the office, but it can be all surgical or all clinical depending on the new PA desires!  The new PA will also provide patient evaluation and education, first assist, writing scripts coordinate with PT, rounds, and reviewing lab results in a clinic setting.

Job Description Well-established Orthopaedic Group seeks their fourth full-time Physician Assistant.  This position is a combination of the OR and the Clinic.  The new PA will handle total joints, knees, fracture, shoulders and general orthopaedic cases.  Responsibilities include:  first assist, evaluation of injuries, pre and post-operative care, injections, H&P's, casting, writing prescriptions and managing records.  The new PA will eventually run their own clinic.  The group has their own ASC and onsite PT Center.

Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified/eligible, highly motivated and work well in a team environment.  New graduates with orthopaedic rotations are welcome to apply!  This group will consider an experienced PA from any surgical area.

. As part of our multidisciplinary surgery team, you will be looked upon as a practitioner, teacher, consultant, and change agent. 
. You will be expected to manage the care of acute patients, perform procedures within scope of practice, and provide generalized post-operative care. 

Qualifications:
. Successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant program. 
. Certification by NCCPA. Licensure by the State of Maryland. 
. Minimum 2 years neurosurgical experience or cardiology experience strongly preferred.
