Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant needed for a small, but very busy outpatient oncology practice in Northern, Virginia and Washington, DC area.  Will take new graduates Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. Previous oncology or internal medicine experience preferred, but will train in oncology. Must work well in a team environment. Terrific attitude a MUST!  You will be working directly with a Medical Oncologist by Assisting with patient follow-ups and consulting new patients as a team approach. May also do some hospital rounding.

Ideal candidate will; demonstrate a high level of autonomy and expert skill in the diagnosis and treatment of complex responses to actual or potential health problems; formulate clinical decisions to manage acute and chronic illnesses and promote wellness; integrate education, research, management, leadership and consultation into clinical role and function in collegial relationships with nursing peers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Conduct comprehensive health assessments, provide diagnostic and assessment services, secure/evaluate/record health histories, perform in-depth physical examinations, order/perform pertinent diagnostic tests, analyze data, manage therapeutic regimes, provide patient education, collaborate with physicians, prescribe medications (Schedules II-VI), and under physician supervision; assist with procedures in the operating room as well as endoscopic procedures. 
 

Must posses: AT LEAST 1 YR. of SOLID CRITICAL CARE or ICU EXPERIENCE + active, unrestricted Massachusetts state license + current NCCPA certification + Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration + Federal DEA #+ BLS + ACLS. ALL REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET FOR CONSIDERATION. Knowledge of electronic databases or record keeping is a plus. NO NEW GRADS.

The Neurosurgery Department at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center offers a wide range of advanced and innovative neurosurgical services in our state-of-the-art facilities.  We provide the highest, most up-to-date level of specialized care for neurosurgial patients after surgery, and for patients with head and neck injuries, seizures, intracranial hemorrhages, and stroke.

Currently, we have an opening for a Physician's Assistant in the Neurosurgery department.

This full-time, day shift position would be responsible for performing many patient-oriented tasks such as interviewing patients, taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering laboratory tests, making tentative diagnoses and prescribing appropriate treatments.

This may include working in the OR if you desire to do so. This position includes inpatient and outpatient.

Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant Program or closely related field required. 
. Licensure as a Physician Assistant required. 
. Annual certification in CPR required.
