North Texas – Family Practice

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner for a Family Practice clinic in North Texas. Will consider experienced providers only. No new graduates. Prefer candidates with current Texas license but will consider other candidates with regional ties. Other providers on site. Schedule will be M-F, 8:30a – 5:30p. May work 9a to 6p if you prefer. No call and no weekends. Anticipated patient volume will be 20-25 ppd. High autonomy. Lab and X-ray on site. Salary will be $80-100k+ (including incentives) with a comprehensive benefit package including 3 wks vacation, malpractice, health insurance, dental/vision/disability, retirement, and 1 wk paid CME. Relocation assistance. Additionally: This position offers guaranteed Federal Loan Repayment Assistance with a high HPSA score (requires 2 year commitment). The cash value of this benefit is $60k. In this role, you will provide direct care to surgical patients under the supervision of a physician/surgeon. You will assist the surgeon during surgical procedures by carrying out surgical functions as directed by the surgeon in order to ensure optimal results to the patient. You will provide comprehensive evaluation, management, and care to pre and post operative patients as well as develop a comprehensive plan of care and review with supervising physician. Other duties include participating in the patients’ education specific to surgical procedures and post-operative care; determining, ordering, interpreting, and documenting appropriate tests, treatments, and drug prescriptions; assisting in surgical rounds at the hospital; collaborating with the physician and other clinical staff members to maintain continuity of care; referring patients to supervising physician or with physician agreement to other health/professionals as appropriate; and participating in developing, reviewing, and revising medical/surgical protocols. In addition, you will participate in training staff and students as necessary and integrate the principles of patient safety and quality care into the daily practice. The practitioner will be assigned to a specific location every day depending on surgical cases and clinic need which will be determined by the Area Service Chief. Location assignments will be made monthly whenever possible, according to access needs; assignment sites may be changed on short notice.

Qualifications include:
•   One year of experience assisting in orthopedics or neurosurgery preferred
•   Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program
•   A bachelor’s degree
•   ACLS certification is preferred
•   Board certification from NCCPA – with the ability to renew it every six years
•   A current Virginia Physician Assistant license
•   A DEA number is required if practice agreement authorized prescribing of controlled substances
•   A written delegation agreement with supervising physician on file with Kaiser Permanente Physician Professional Quality Assurance Office (PPQA) and the appropriate state Board of Medicine
•   A current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
•   NPI
